I was thinking of sinking a few brush piles (maybe 3 or 4) in some different lakes to give myself and a friend a few spots as I know many fisherman do. I was just wondering if it is against the law to do so or not? I've heard so many different answers but I want to get an answer from some one who can either give me a reference or a difinitive answer from a fellow citizen in Virginia.
Thanks!|||I'm afraid I couldn't find a definitive answer. The best thing I can tell you is that it is unlawful in some lakes and possibly not in others. Check your local ordinances and regulations for the lake and community where you plan to sink structure. Some structure is necessary, and usually improves fishing, but too much can "choke" a body of water by creating too much plant life in the water, so it is regulated in places. The link below should help.
