I got this ticket while partying in my apartment a few days ago due to noise audible to neighbors. Virginia (Fairfax county) treats these offenses as misdemeanors. I have a clean record up until this. So if I am convicted by the judge on my court date, will it show upon my record later and affect my job applications and rental search ? Thanks !|||Theoretically, yes. A misdemeanor can stay on your record. However, most prospective employers don't pull down to that level except in for a sensitive position. Even then, in most cases a violation like that will not be an impediment. I might ask you to explain it in an interview but it would not affect a hiring decision.
