What do you think of Virginia passing a State Law, that protects its Citizens against being to be forced, to purchase Health Insurance?

They are the first State to do this.

BQ -- Will this be "enough" to protect Virginians?

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. "

.|||Forcing people to buy insurance will be challenged in the Supreme Court, I don't think it will pass.|||.
P.S. -- If that Bill goes through -- there are 34 State Attorney Generals, prepared to file suit against the U.S. Gov't.

Did I tell ya the Second Civil War was coming or what ??

|||It is awesome (I live in VA). But no it won't mean a thing.|||It is meaningless.|||It will be struck down under the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution. The people who passed the law know that. They did it just for show.|||If other states were smart the other 49 ( or 57+ in Obama's count) would do the same.|||The state of virginia can not pass a law excepting people from a federal tax so its just silly politics.|||Its just a tactic used to slow the effect of Obama's policies. The people doing things like this are the ones that hate America because making Obama's policies go from a federal debate to a state one will definately add to the costs people are complaining about and doing nothing else.

I'm glad I do not live in Virginia and if you all paid attention, you would know that in the first draft, (before Thanksgiving recession) the Healthcare Reform Bill had what we called a Public Option just so states wouldn't have to take this action. It would be like that across the board, you either want healthcare or not.|||That won't work, but I think that various States will sue the Federal Govt, and the whole Obamacare Kit and Kaboodle will be stalled in court. After a while, the US Supreme Court will find the mandate unconstitutional.

PS... btw, I WANT the Obamacare bill to pass. If they pass this monstrosity, it's more likely that there will be a backlash and we can get rid of the Muslim Commie in 2012.|||I really really really hope that my state votes in a Republican Governor this fall, and then we follow suit. At the current, we've gone much more blue than I care to recognize. But we're a swing state, still.

PS--- It's revolting what is happening to you, I am sorry it is.
I pissed off two at once yesterday, but shut one down, and tricked the other, it was hilarious. We'll see how that turns out.
It's not too hard to outsmart an idiot. Do you have an email alert to warn you that someone has connected to you? Because that keeps me on my toes, but if you've got a troll stalker, it sounds like it will be difficult to shrug off. Good luck!|||I think we're going to see something like that soon up here in PA - they've already been talking about some kind of exemption because of the Amish communities. It's against their way- their communities take care of their own - including paying medical / hospital bills.

Besides - if our nation starts forcing us to do things.....isn't that a type a fascism??

(But look- they've got you with TV already..gotta pay now to watch that.....unless you're willing to only live with PBS - the only stations that still broadcast analog)
