I do not wanna take any courses but I do wanna take the PTCB exam. Can I pass by studying hard? Is the exam hard? What books should I study. I plan on becoming a pharmacist but wanna get a foot in the pharmacy field as a pharmacy technician. Also I live in Virginia if it makes a difference.|||The state you live in makes a lot of difference, because every state has different pharmacy technician requirements. Here is what I found for Virginia at http://www.pharmacytechnicianhq.com/phar鈥?/a>

Virginia State Requirements - Board of Pharmacy Technician Guidelines states the following requirements for becoming a pharmacy technician:
-Complete one of the following:
*PTCB national certification OR
*Board approved training program and pass the Viriginia pharm tech exam or ExCPT exam
-Complete pharmacy technician registration application, pay $25 application fee

So, yes you can take and pass the PTCB to become a pharmacy technician in Virginia. If you get the right guide, you can pull it off. You can see PTCB guide recommendations for doing this on the certification page: http://www.pharmacytechnicianhq.com/cert鈥?/a>

Best of luck,
