What is the process for permanent green card holder to file for unemployment? Do they need to submit a copy of their green cards?
And how does Virginia Employment Commission confirm immigration status? Or just submitting SSN to cross-matched your identity with Social security administration? |||If your SSC is "Valid for work only with DHS authorization" then you must submit a copy of your Green Card. |||Unemployment insurance is under the state's Dept of Labor. They have access to state DMV records, employment records, the employer's unemployment insurance records, and probably other types of state records as well. They can also access the same database employers use to verify authorization to work and immigration status, or contact immigration authorities directly, and they can verify SSNs.

It's the government! They can verify everything! When you go, be sure you have your passport, green card, Social Security card, and drivers license with you. You will need all of them.
