I am doing a us history poject and I am making a box with a 3d dimension of a house and crops of virginia in the sixteen hundreds. Do any of you know?? Thanks.|||Tobacco was the money crop, but was replaced by cotton in the 1700s. The crops they grew for themselves included corn, wheat, cabbages, pumpkins, beans, carrots, and fruits such as apples and cherries. Potatoes, too.

Celery didn't come along until a century later and was not grown at that time. Tomatoes were thought to be poisonous. Watermelons, yams, rice, and peanuts were brought in from Africa as part of the slave trade. Not too common in the 1600s.
