My daugther is 3 years old. I am currently in Texas and planning to move to Virginia next year. That is why I want to know the minimum age requirement for elementary school in Virginia. I know it is 5 years by Sep 1st in Texas.|||There's good news for you. First of all, Arlington has a full-day kindergarten program that's open (strongly encouraged) for all Arlington children. That's better than most other Virginia counties.
Next, the requirement is that your child be five by 30 September.
Next, you will have a choice between your neighborhood school and a variety of special programs, such as Science Focus and Arlington Traditional.
Last, the schools in Arlington are great--amongst the best in the nation.
