You DO need a license to carry a concealed handgun in those states that have concealed carry laws.|||if you want a gun. you need a license. No other way around it. It doesnt matter if its for protection ,hunting or etc.|||yes you need a license in all 50 states. even Texas which is kind of a rebellion state with there laws.|||NO, YOU DO NOT NEED A LICENSE IN VIRGINIA!! You could get a concealed carry license- always a good idea. But there is no FEDERAL LICENSE OR REGISTRY for purchasing or owning firearms. And there isn't a license or registry for purchasing or owning firearms in Virginia. Sorry, the caps are based on my frustration with the two other answers.
