virginia: I've read online that you need a witness for justice of peace weddings, but is this true in Virginia? I know the rules vary, and it doesn't say anything about it on the Virginia.org website regarding the subject. Anyone who has actually been through the process, please let me know. Thanks.|||At least in 2008, when I married, witnesses were NOT required in Virginia. I used a Justice of the Peace, we only had to show ID at the clerk's office, go through the ceremony & we were done once the JOP signed the papers!
