I'd really like to hear from people that HAVE had this experience in Virginia. I was going 91 in a 65 zone. I live out of state but I see on the back of the ticket there's a possibility to be fined up to $2500. I need to know how much it usually is and if it stays as a misdemeanor forever or just for a few years on your record.|||Well, It depends on the judge you get and what county. I live in Va and you will probably get a ticket from 1,000.00 -1,800.00 and it will stay on your record for 7 years. Good Luck & Slow Down!!|||First and foremost, get an experienced reckless driving lawyer in Virginia. At 91 mph, most judges in Virginia will put you in jail. Second, this is a class 1 misdemeanor. The fine is not the issue usually. The jail time, the loss of your privilege to driving in Virginia and possibly being reported to your home state are the main issues. Also, your insurance rates may skyrocket.|||In VA you have to show in court. You can't prepay. If they give you suspension in VA your license will be suspended in your home state. Reckless driving generally stays on your record for 11 years. It can be less but that depends on if it was speeding.
The smart person gets a lawyer and minimizes the financial impact later.|||i live in va ive gotten a reckless ticket beforre my advice is to go to court i know you live out of state but it will save u money go to court and you will get proven guilty but ask the judge to go to driving school and they have to let you and it will get dismissed you will just have to pay like 60 for school and it wont go on your record but if dont go it depends if it was a state city or county state is more expensive then city then county and if it is a road tons of ppl have died on they will burn u but i would say 500 if city 800 state im guessing bc i did the school|||Well I live in Virginia and my husband got a reckless driving ticket and it was 250.00 all together, it wasn't no wear near 2500.00, still a lot though. I dont think they will give you that high of an amount to pay. Good luck! It does not stay on your record either, it takes a few years but its not on their forever, dont worry.
