virginia: What are some ideas for an adult birthday in Virginia Beach or surrounding Hampton Roads area, besides just going out to dinner? It would be a small group (6-8 people) in their 30s.|||I would not want to be fussing in the kitchen with fancy food and missing out on visiting with my guests. How about a nice Italian dinner such as baked ziti or lasagna (prepared ahead and put in oven just before guests arrive), a nice big salad, some crusty Italian bread, and perhaps a veggie that can be roasted in the oven along with the lasagna such as asparagus or whole green beans (coated with some evoo, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic powder).
