I was pulled over by a Virginia State Trooper and he asked only for my DL but not my registration or insurance. Are they required to ask for all three?|||Are you questioning if it was a real officer? Was he in uniform? What reason did he give for pulling you over?|||It can be optional, as he may already know that information, and is just making sure your ID matches the registration and insurance on file. DMV computers are getting real smart, and already tell the police if you're currently insured, according to their files|||No, there is no requirement to ask for anything. Although it is common to ask, they may not if every thing seems legitimate.|||he just pulled you over to see ur cup size|||Not necessarily. They can get all that info when they run your license.|||Its discretionary, they generally do but they don't have to. If the incident was minor and they plan to let you off with a warning they can just check your DL and warn you and wave you off.
