i want to propose to my girlfriend and i need a fancy/romantic restaurant where i can propose to her at. she lives around northern virginia. so can u please let me kno if u kno any good restaurants in northern virginia. money is not an issue, im willing to spend watever. i want the restaurant to be expensive.|||I recommend the Lightfoot Restaurant 11 N. King St.
Leesburg, VA 20176 its a restored bank building from the turn of the century! very romantic, pretty expensive! Its not lit to bright, you wont be smushed in with other tables very subtle place. Its actually two floors with a wrap around bar, hardwood floors, a pianist, vaulted ceilings, a lot of wood work etc etc . Its the perfect place for a proposal, very warm and romantic !!

Congrats, good luck and enjoy your meal = )

If you sit on the second floor where the piano is I would also recommend slipping the pianist a 20 to play something to set the mood = )

This is the restaurant: http://www.theinnatlittlewashington.com/鈥?/a>

Dinner is $148 to $178 per person depending on what night you dine. They take reservations up to a year in advance, so might want to consider planning ahead and if you can't get a weekend reservation, get one during the week. Dinner reservations are guaranteed for overnight guests, so getting a room is recommended... plus... it's the experience of a lifetime.

Rooms at the inn are $400 to $1000 each night, extra on weekends.

If you wanted to go into DC, here's a list of their most romantic restaurants:http://dc.about.com/od/restaurants/a/rom鈥?/a> There are several restaurants listed there in Northern Virginia and Maryland as well.

I'm a foodie, so from that list I'd certainly choose Citronelle, but that's just me - lol Tabard Inn is generally considered to be more romantic. Wouldn't recommend Two Quail any longer as they've gotten a few poor reviews lately. La Ferme in Chevy Chase is nice - a small quaint cottage - very nice if that would be romantic to you guys. Everyone has different taste.

Go through the list and see which place might appeal to her, to you guys as a couple, and what sort of food you might like best. Take your time choosing and don't concern yourself so much with thinking that the most expensive is necessarily the best. Make sure it's a place where it'll be a wonderful experience... relaxing... enjoyable... not just the most money you can pay for a meal.

Keep in mind that a lot of local restaurants are participating in Restaurant Week August 24 thru 30 and some are running special menus all month. This could mean a bargain meal, a different menu altogether, more crowds, etc - so be sure to inquire before you make reservations.
